Ben Conroy

Solicitor

Chris qualified as a solicitor in 2006 and specialises in public law, mental capacity, mental health, human rights and community care.

He is a member of the Law Society Mental Health Review Tribunal.

Chris completed his law degree at the London School of Economics. In 2004 he completed a Masters in Law at University College in London.

Before his legal education Chris worked as a paralegal for KaimTodner LLP .  After completing his training as a solicitor Chris developed a health and social welfare law practice.  He was head of public law and mental health departments from 2007 to 2010 when he left KaimTodner LLP to join Conroys.

Chris has considerable experience representing individuals and families in mental capacity, medical treatment and a wide range of social welfare litigation before the High Court and County Court. He is experienced in judicial review in relation to vulnerable individuals, prisoners, anti-social behaviour, children leaving care, patients detained in hospital and community care disputes. Chris is also experienced in successfully bringing damages claims arising from human rights breaches, unlawful detention and failures by local authorities.

In March 2011 Christopher Cuddihee successfully represented Mark Neary in proceedings before the Court of Protection. As only one of a small number of cases to have been reported in the Court of Protection this is a very important case both for our client and for others confronted with a deprivation of liberty and proceedings in the Court of Protection. As a firm specialising in Mental Health and Mental Capacity law we are extremely pleased to have been able to assist Mr Neary.
